I’ve been developing a challenging narrative for one of my pieces, I’ve designed it like a monologue or a spoken word poem. I plan to perform it or have a voice actor perform it over an animated backdrop.
Once I have it finished I will upload the different versions of the narrative’s editing. So I can talk about the thought process.
Specifically the piece is about the isolation felt in being autistic based on what I remember from my own case and feelings.
However I believe it should be added that at the very bottom of what this piece is trying to say is though we’re wired differently being autistic, at heart we are equally human. The same can be said for any mental illness or unique trait. Even if it’s not recognised as much as it should be on either side.
The isolation in this poem is therefore applicable to anyone else who connects with similar notions of isolation.
The animation will use strong light and contrasting shade with carefully chosen colours to represent the emotions of the dialogue.
